Basics
​
Our philosophy is both music and lyric-wise to create art that has an in-depth resonance with our personal living nightmares, fears and stigmas as well as dreams, wishes and insights of the world.
The existential burden of being human often feels unbearable - within every one of us is buried the seed of creative and destructive potential and the means to create our own path and give meaning to life granted, yet all the world seems to desire is the material hedonists' greyness or shepherd attitude chaining the spirit. Still there somewhere, deep in the structures of man, lies the ever-inspiring, slumbering beast that is meant to awake, grow and devour all else.
Of songwriting
Music-wise we tend to go with lyrics first method for it has been proved several times that the strongest musical ideas are born when there is an actual reason and a very concrete source inspiration to grab the instrument, instead of "only" playing riffs that sound good.
The song structures are usually laid down together at our rehearsal space, based on the lyrics, a few parts or melodies and some idea of the general atmosphere of the song.

Of lyrics
​
The lyrics are usually born from very natural sources - when fitted into some larger existential context, many significant events or periods in our personal lives can offer excellent frames for a honest, strong story that still remains it's openness for interpretation.

Sure, for example philosophical or scientific researches as well as occult grimoires are interesting and inspiring things to explore, but without a personal grasp in it the text often feels blank rehearsing of things said by others and yet they fail to deliver the feeling of that there would have been any processing of the "data" about the subject matter. As always exceptions exist, of course.

For now, we have felt that the Finnish language is the most suitable for songwriting. As writers, we both prefer a mix of fairly straightforward text structure and poetical, strong metaphores and phrases. Both individuals write their lyrics independently except for some small assistance with particular words here and there.
